it disables user startup items, like Native Instrument's NIHardwareAgent

it disables UI features that have no performance impact whatsoever on a current Mac it disables backups by turning Time Machine off finding all 24bit audio files created today it disables Spotlight indexing, thus breaking metadata searches, e.g.

If you open the script in a Text Editor like BBEdit, you will find that: I have an older machine and trying to push it as much as i can, i know some of you guys with your 24 cores super macs will be laughing at this, be easy alright ?Īpple seems to be bloating new OS with questionable apps/extensions/agents/etc like little critters bitting the cpu occasionally and most probably never have use for in music production so why have it running in the background ? Just curious to see what others think ?Yeah, totally unnecessary features like Wifi networking, or search functionality.

I've tried one of the basic scripts posted towards the last page from Sonic Studio (Amarra), and notice an improvement, a quicker response overall after applying it, dont know if i hear better audio but i like stable computers, the more the better i didn't run the big script as it hasn't been tested/updated for El Capitan yet. Some say it improves audio, i know better faster hardware could have that effect so why wouldn't a slimmer OS Apple seems to be bloating new OS with questionable apps/extensions/agents/etc like little critters bitting the cpu occasionally and most probably never have use for in music production so why have it running in the background ? Ive stumbled on this interesting thread-discussion and it appears some guys have been working away at special optimizations for audio by minimizing Mac OS X background processes freeing up memory, possibly reducing overall jitter by having less cpu interrupts.
